SGM37891是一款單路LED閃光燈驅動器，其內部包括一個最大輸出可達720mA（SGM37891A支持到1240mA）的受控恒流源和必要的保護及控制電路。SGM37891基于NMOSFET電流控制結構，配合新型的低正向壓降LED，在鋰充電電池的平臺電壓范圍內可不必配套升壓電路維持恒流，這在減少系統成本的同時避免了開關電磁干擾。其內部恒流源結構允許LED負極接地，有利于散熱。
SGM37891根據輸入脈沖個數設置輸出電流。閃光燈模式通過閃光燈超時保護計時器（650ms，典型值）限制最大連續輸出時間，進而防止LED燈珠過熱。此過程中若ON引腳出現低脈沖（50μs，典型值）則重置芯片內部計時器。電源電壓低于3.45V或芯片溫度高于165℃時，SGM37891自動按比例降低驅動電流直到電源電壓穩定或片芯溫度回落。手電筒模式輸出時可緩慢開啟和緩慢關閉。
SGM37891采用UTDFN-1.5×2-6L和TSOT-23-6綠色封裝，額定工作溫度范圍為-40℃至+85℃。
